Safety Straps to protect my son from being smashed by the television
(which fell once already before our safety strap purchase). But now
I feel he's safe. Since my husband installed these straps, the TV
hasn't budged an inch...and my toddler pulls on the TV all the time.

CUSTOMER COMMENTS: I bought the TV safety
straps because my 2 year old son has begun trying to climb his tv
stand in his bedroom on top of which is a very heavy 27 inch
television (not a flat screen). I received two safety straps in my
order and they were very easy to place. I attached the television to
the tv stand with the straps and my husband and I both tried pulling
on the tv and it absolutely will not budge, so I am very happy with
my purchase. I would recommend these to anyone who has children and
heavy appliances that could possibly be pulled down by a child.

Three New York City children have been fatally injured in the past two months by televisions that fell off of stands or furniture.
The latest death came Wednesday, when a 27-inch TV set resting on a rolling stand toppled on top of a 4-year-old girl, police said.
A 3-year-old Brooklyn boy was killed in a similar incident on April 7, possibly as he was trying to reach a VCR perched on top of the television.
A two-year-old was killed in March by a 37-inch television that fell off a dresser.
The deaths have prompted a plea by some grieving mothers for new laws that would mandate warning labels about the potential danger of top-heavy or poorly placed TVs.
"If there were warning labels, or if there was any awareness that this could be a danger, believe me, the kind of mother I am, I wouldn't have even let my son have a TV in his room," The mother told the New York Post.
