Swaddlebees Cotton Prefolds are as basic as you can get with cloth diapering. It's a staple for most moms that use cloth diapers. Regardless of the system you have, you will always need prefolds at least during the newborn stage, or even just for back up.
Made with 4x8x4 layers of 100% unbleached cotton twill that gets softer and more absorbent the longer it is used. Sold in 6-piece packs.
Folding the diapers
The most popular way for newborns and girls is to fold the diaper into thirds. Lay the diaper with the two parallel stitched lines running horizontally and fold over each other as shown in the diagram. Lay on top of a waterproof cover and fasten securely to the baby.
As boys get older, folding the diaper to create extra padding in front is the most popular. Lay on top of a waterproof cover and fasten securely to the baby.
A modified version of this fold is useful in containing very loose stools, or if you want to secure the diaper with fasteners.
Before Using the Diapers
The diapers need to be pre-washed on hot at least once before. Two or three times, and dried in between, is preferable as this causes the diapers to fluff up and become more absorbent. The diapers will shrink and get thicker with the first few washes. This shrinkage has been allowed for when designing the diapers.
Washing the Diapers
Keep your wet and dirty diapers in a diaper pail. Wash your diapers in warm or hot water with the recommended amount of detergent as stated on the detergent’s container. Too much or too little may cause your diapers to possibly stink, leak, or leave baby with a rash.
An additional rinse can be used for particularly soiled loads. Make sure that your diapers are rinsed clean. Any residue from poop, urine, detergent or vinegar can make your diapers smell. Tumble or line dry.
Do not use fabric softener. It will coat the diapers making them water repellent and reduce the absorbency of the diaper. Be aware that if you use dryer sheets in your dryer for other laundry this can coat your dryer and transfer to your diapers.
Do not use bleach. This will cause the fabric's fibers to break down.
Do not use diaper rash creams without using a protective liner between your baby's skin and the diaper. Creams will leave a waxy residue on the fabric making them less absorbent, water repellent and may potentially cause leaks. If you need to use a rash cream, you should use a stay-dry liner or a piece of fleece between your baby's bottom and the diaper to prevent the cream from transferring onto the diapers.
Stain removal. If staining occurs, it is important that any products used on the diapers and covers to remove the stains are mild so as not to irritate the baby’s skin and/or cause the diapers to prematurely deteriorate. In most cases, laying the stained diapers out in the sun is the safest and most effective way of removing stains.

RETURNS are accepted within 30 days of order, with
a return code, on unopened, unused products.
Email
us for RETURN CODE number. Please include order number and customer name
with this email.
When you return the product include a copy of the sales receipt, and indicate
refund or product exchange on the package.
NO RETURNS (unless defective) on open product
packages, sale items, potty training products, personalized products, special
orders, or wholesale purchases.
DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS - Items received defective will be
replaced within the first 30 days after order.
PRODUCT WARRANTY - My Precious Kid is not responsible
for replacement of defective items after 30 days. Please contact us for
manufacturer's phone number for warranty issues. It will be the customer's
responsibility to contact the manufacturer for replacement according to their
warranty
policy.
REFUNDS - Refunds will be processed within 7 days of
return. Shipping charges are not refundable.
NOTE: Items returned in used or opened condition, or outside of return policy will be refunded at retail price, minus 50% fee. The items will be given to a local charity or needy family. If free shipping was given then the actual shipping will be deducted from the refunded amount.
