The Patio Door Guardian was designed to effectively secure and childproof
sliding patio doors in Homes and balcony sliders in apartments/condos.
What are the three most common means of entering through a locked patio
door?
If you said "Prying, lifting and breaking the glass", you're absolutely
correct. Due to the light structure of most sliding patio doors and their
locks, entry can be gained by simply applying pressure to the lock and
strike area by prying with a large screwdriver or pry bar. This means of
entry is fast, easy and in most cases so quiet it is almost undetectable.
The most popular remedy for this type of entry is the old broom handle in
the track. While there's no doubt as to the effectiveness of this method
for preventing a pried opening, it falls short in protecting the door
against being lifted. Like prying, lifting is quick, simple and noiseless.
Patio Doors are manufactured with either the sliding door on the outside
or on the inside. Those mounted outside are the most prone to prying and
lifting and are the hardest to protect.
The Patio Door Guardian will not fit patio doors with the sliding door on
the outside.
CUSTOMER COMMENT: This product turned out better than I expected. I have a
daycare in my home and the kids no longer have a broom handle to run off
with! I was pleasantly surprised that you can crack the door open a few
inches while still keeping it locked.
CUSTOMER COMMENT: Fabulous product. his child lock door system is
wonderful! My 3 year old was constantly getting outside on her own, and
now she can't. The lock is a very good sturdy construction and I recommend
it to anyone with small children, or anyone who wants a good lock on a
sliding door.
CUSTOMER COMMENT: Awesome for little escapees. Little Houdini-in-trainings
will not be able to open that sliding glass door again. Keep your toddlers
safe and inside the house even after they have mastered the regular lock.
By having this lock way up high, there's no way they'll be able to unlock
it themselves. Forget the broom handle in the lower track, this is the
best.
CUSTOMER COMMENT: Our adventurous two year old started opening the sliding
glass door and stepping out of the house. We had one of those 3M bars
holding the door securely shut but after the two year old saw how it was
removed...well they picked up on that quickly. This Guardian Patio Lock is
just what we needed. I am fairly handy with tools and installation took
about 10 minutes. Before installation make sure your sliding glass door is
completely shut and locked so you can get the correct markings. Then you
just have to drill the holes and screw the two pieces to their respective
locations. I really like the "partial open" setting which gives you about
3 or 4 inches of an opening to allow air to come in but not enough for
someone to escape.
CUSTOMER COMMENT: I feel safer and it took less than an hour to install on
a patio door and provides a sturdy and positive lock. The lock is also
easy to use. Even my gadget challenged friend had no using it. I also like
that it locks automatically when the door is closed. Unlike the bars,
broom handles, or wood that many use and forget to set! I'd highly
recommend this to anyone.
CUSTOMER COMMENT: I LOVE the Patio Door Guardian! This item has made my house feel so secure. This item required a little bit of work to put up by my husband, but is so easy to use. I love that it provides greater security than a “stick” in the track of the sliding glass door. I love that you can also keep your door secure, yet opened a small bit for ventilation. I recommend this for anyone! I would have loved this item when my children were small, since it secures the sliding glass door so well, and since you have to be tall along with pull and twist the item, there would have been no way for my children to get out of the sliding glass door when it is engaged.

RETURNS are accepted within 30 days of order, with
a return code, on unopened, unused products.

us for RETURN CODE number. Please include order number and customer name
with this email.
When you return the product include a copy of the sales receipt, and indicate
refund or product exchange on the package.
NO RETURNS (unless defective) on open product
packages, sale items, potty training products, personalized products, special

DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS - Items received defective will be
replaced within the first 30 days after order.
PRODUCT WARRANTY - My Precious Kid is not responsible
for replacement of defective items after 30 days. Please contact us for
manufacturer's phone number for warranty issues. It will be the customer's
responsibility to contact the manufacturer for replacement according to their
warranty
policy.
REFUNDS - Refunds will be processed within 7 days of
return. Shipping charges are not refundable.
NOTE: Items returned in used or opened condition, or outside of return policy will be refunded at retail price, minus 50% fee. The items will be given to a local charity or needy family. If free shipping was given then the actual shipping will be deducted from the refunded amount.
