CUSTOMER REVIEW: Sunshine Kids Radian 65
I was looking to find a 5 point harness seat that went above and beyond to hold my 3 and 5 year old daughters forward facing. This seat was highly recommended to me.
After searching and comparing this seat with the Britax Regent (needed tether and too wide, not FAA approved), the Costco Apex (too bulky), the Safeguard Child seat (too pricey), I found this one to have all the things I required:
1. Slim design so I could fit 3 child seats across one row in my SUV.
2. Something that offered great cushion and padding.
3. Something FAA approved.
4. Something that could fit outboard or center seat location.
If you are thinking of getting this seat, definitely jump on it. You will not be disappointed!
A GREAT BUY - My son would cry during every car ride in his old car seat, but the Radian has made such a difference. Sunshine Kids Radian 65 Convertible Folding Car Seat vs Britax Car Seats
A lot of people compare the Radian Convertible Folding Car seat with the Britax car seats (Roundabout and Marathon). We believe the Radian Car Seat has the following advantages:
(1) It is foldable, comes with a shoulder strap, easy for travel;
(2) The outside width of the car seat is narrower, yet the inside seating area is wider, thus the overall chair is less bulky with your child sitting more comfortably;
(3) the sides of the Radian car seat are lower, so it is easier for you to get your child in and out of the car seat;
(4) you can fit 3 car seats in the back roll, and there is no way that you can fit 3 Britax car seats in the back;
(5) weight limit of Radian exceeds that of the Roundabout (40 lbs only), and matches that of the Marathon (65 lbs). but price wise, the Radian Folding Car seat is lower than Britax's.

Q. Can I adjust the rear-facing installation angle on my car seat?
A. Yes. You can adjust the rear-facing angle by using the top tether. See pages 28-29 in the instruction manual for complete instructions on top tether use.
Q. Has the Radian car seat been crash tested?
A. Radian has been crash tested according to US safety standard FMVSS213. Radian passes all the requirements with extraordinary success. So well, in fact, that Radian significantly outperforms the crash test criteria required for a 65 lb child.
Q. How can I get another copy of the instruction manual?

Q. How long can I use my Radian car seat?
A. We recommend that you discontinue the use of your Radian car seat after 7 years or if it has been involved in an accident. After 7 years, instructions and labels may no longer be present to read, and certain components may suffer degradation as a result of the environmental conditions in which the product has been stored or used.
