Finger Print Magnet Can
This project makes a fun item to make at events or to sell at events. This idea is courtesy of Missy Lundeen.
At the craft store I found 1 pound bags of "scrap" scrap booking paper...all different sizes from 4x4 and down to about 1x1. These were on sale this week for only $1, so I bought a bag (at home I cut these into 1x1" squares - I probably have about 250 pieces now).
I also found pre inked pads in an array of colors (non-toxic and washable) for only $1 each, so I picked up 2 of every color.
They also sell a box of stickers from Lisa Frank...there is something like 10,000 little stickers in there for $14, so I picked that up.
1 roll of magnetic tape, I forget how much, but I will cut that into 1/2" strips.
Wal-Mart had Crayola markers (50 pack) on sale so I picked up 2 packs. Dollar tree has a $1 box of 64 tiny felt pens too.
Home Depot sells the small paint cans, empty of course, and I picked up a few of these. I already had large labels at my house, so I had that all set for labels for the cans.
Barnes and Noble had a large book on fingerprint art for kids....step by step....hundreds of pictures, for only $14, so I got that.
At home I made up 2 pages of large fingerprints and printed them out. This shows the kids how to make them. With those I made the "samples" of what I can help the kids make at the fairs or at the parties, or I can just include it in a party-to-go can. So, in total I spent about $50 on everything.
At the fair, I will have on the back of every magnet a sticker with my biz name and web site. I will only charge $1 for each magnet, with a buy 2 get the 3rd free option. Besides, I would rather pay $1 for something my child makes rather than $10 for a Mylar balloon!
I will also have 3-4 cans ready to go with a coupon inside for a discount on the ID kits. I am selling the Party To Go cans for $10 each, and they will have everything in them to handle 20 magnets.
