BOOSTER CAR SEAT ID Card by My Precious Kid®
In an accident, paramedics usually transport the child in their booster car seat to the hospital. When they arrive at the hospital the Booster Seat ID Card allows medical personnel to treat the child even if parent is not available. The ID Card provides the medical staff the child’s name, which is a comfort to the child and provides contact numbers for parents at work, grandparents or some other friend or family member. A grand mother came up to me at an event and thanked me for providing this service. Her grand daughter was staying with her while the mom was out shopping. The grand mother was canning and the little girl was burned. The grandmother took the little girl to the hospital. She was told that because the injury was not life threatening they could not treat her without mothers consent. Attaches with Velcro® to the base of any car seat or booster seat. Another mistake I see often is taking kids out of the 5-point harness too soon. The child needs to stay in the harness until they are tall enough that the car’s seat belt crosses them at the correct position at their shoulder in the booster and they are over 40 pounds. When you switch to a booster with no harness remember to belt the booster seat into the car even when your child is not in it. If not the booster seat can become a flyer projectile in a wreck.
Please take the time to be sure that your car seat is installed correctly, fits your child, has emergency contact information, and a safety pillow for their neck. If the event of a wreck you will be glad you covered all the bases.
