Ollie’s Story – Child Danger – Your washing machine!

Ollie's Story

Hi Im Tiffany Hebb.
A mother to two children, one in heaven and one here on earth.

Ollie and Poppy.

My sweet 21 month old, Ollie tragically left this earth 9 months ago. He climbed up and fell into my washing machine. I was at home and never heard a sound. He was such a smart and curious boy. I want to spend my life warning other mothers of this weird and-not common-danger. We did laundry together every day. He had a stool he would push up so he could reach to throw the clothes in. I was so happy to have Ollie help me, he was my little buddy. He loved it just as much as I did. I never, ever could have imagined something he loved so much could be such a danger and take his life.

Poppy

My washing machine was a top loader. It never shut off when the lid was open and didn’t have a lock.

I want all to be aware of this danger.

Please share my tragedy to make EVERY-SINGLE-PARENT-AWARE.Buy a lock, get a new washer if you have to. Do whatever you need to do to make the laundry room a safe place in your home.

My deepest condolences to you. No words that I can say will bring back Ollie or even ease your grief but I’m trying anyway. You couldn’t have possibly known something so tragic would happen. Please try to find some comfort in knowing that he is sitting on Jesus lap basking in his love and glory and that someday you will be with him again. God Bless you and your family.
