Keeping Kids Safe in your Neighborhood

Neighborhood safety may seem to be a thing of the past, but the truth is it doesn’t have to be.  If your neighborhood includes a lot of children, or even if there is only a few it is worth your time to organize a neighborhood council or safety group to help to keep your kids safe where you live.  Establish some rules, put up some signs, approach the board in your city or county and see what they can do to help you ensure that the children in your neighborhood are safe.

You might want to hold monthly meetings, or just create a telephone or email chain to help stay in touch.  No matter what you choose, it is sure to be worth the time you invest in order to keep the children in your neighborhood and those who visit the neighborhood from time to time safe.

America may be growing and changing and the world may be a dangerous place, but just because this may be the case, doesn’t mean your own neighborhood can’t remain a safe and wonderful place for you and your family to live and a place for your children to feel safe.

What can you do to help make your own neighborhood safe today?  Will you take the first step?
