Making your own baby food

Baby Cubes

Baby Cubes

Being a new mom you may have considered the options of breastfeeding over formula or bottle feeding, but have you considered making your own baby food over buying store bought baby food?  This is a healthy option for your baby and one that is easier than it may sound.

Wholesome, healthy baby foods can be made for your baby within a manner of minutes and you will have complete control over what your baby eats including the ingredients.  In fact, it is so easy to do that you may not realize that you already have all the tools that you need in  your kitchen.

Besides the health benefits, making your baby’s food will save you money as well.  So this really is a win-win situation for you isn’t it?  Ready to get started?  Gather the following items and begin making your baby’s food yourself today.

A blender of food processor is one of the key tools needed for making baby food besides the food itself.  You can use it to blend fruits and veggies to the needed consistency for your baby.  Try apples, pears, peaches, blend sweet potatoes, bananas and squash.  Everything that you find on the aisle of a grocery store for your baby can be created in your own home and without all the additives.  It truly is a safe and healthy way to feed your little one.  Why not give it a try and see for yourself?

Also make sure to find safe storage containers for the new food you are making. You want BPA and phthalate free containers like Baby Cubes to store them in the freezer. Studies show us that all baby food and milk containers should be BOA free and phthalate free to keep our babies safe.

Celebrating 8 Years

My Precious Kid Logo

Eight years ago, My Precious Kid was born. Out of a desire to help parents protect their children, Kay Green created My Precious Kid, a Web site designed to sell personalized children’s ID cards. Seven years later, she was able to open a brick and mortar retail store, now selling over 120 different safe baby products both online and off.

Kay’s story is certainly one of success and gives other work-at-home parents hope. My Precious Kid was a one-woman, online business that has grown into a full-blown retail storefront located in her hometown of Hillsboro, Oregon.

In May 2001, Kay purchased the domain name for her business. At the time, she had a newborn daughter, another in junior high school, a son in high school, and a daughter in college — and she was homeschooling. Talk about having your hands full!

Today, three of her children are young adults, one has children of her own, and her youngest is in 3rd grade. Kay is busy running a successful business, and sales are up from 2008 in spite of the recessed economy. Her business is at the top of search engine rankings, and she continues to receive and process 30 to 60 orders a day.

Because of Kay’s passion to help parents protect their children and her determination to succeed, Kay is consistently setting the example for other work-at-home moms and dads. She has proven that you don’t have to be super mom or dad to make your work-at-home business a success. With passion in your heart to help others, along with effort and determination, you, too, can start and grow a successful business both online and off.

Learn more about the products and services offered by Kay at My Precious Kid.com. Be sure to congratulate her on eight years of helping others protect their precious kids with personalized children’s ID cards and other baby safety gear.

Baby Wearing

Baby wearing has gotten some media coverage in the previous months with the blunder that the Motrin company made with using baby wearing to sell their product on a national television commercial. One thing is for sure if you’re a baby wearer you most likely feel strongly about the bond and the real reasons that you choose to wear your baby.

You do not even consider or think about the fact that it may cause you a little muscle pain from time to time. The fact is if worn properly baby wearing should hurt very little to not at all. But no matter if it induces pain or not it can be a positive experience for both the mother and the baby. Baby wearing doesn’t just have to be for babies either. A mother can wear a child as they grow as well as long as they do so properly to keep from hurting their back.

Baby wearing is a popular concept, but it is popular for the special bond and the ability that it gives a mother to care for their child simultaneously as they breastfeed or do other tasks such as chores, computer work, or shopping.

Baby wearing can help a baby to feel safe and secure and can allow them to sleep or nurse or just observe the world around them as they remain safely near their mother.

Obtaining the proper gear to use to wear your baby is important. There are literally hundreds of wraps, carriers and other baby wearing gear on the market today. You can purchase them in hundreds of colors and styles. You are sure to find the baby wearing gear that makes you want to wear your baby all the time.
